Health Explore
The DRH Health Foundation is teaming up with Duncan Middle School and the Oklahoma Health Care Workforce Center to teach teenagers more about the healthcare industry.
Twenty-five students were recently given an incredible opportunity to be a part of a special program called Mad Science Health Explore! The program promotes health careers and explores the scientific relationship to health through interactive demonstrations and experiences. The main focus of the program is for students to learn about healthy lifestyles and to become more aware of the various health related occupations for any future endeavors they may have.
How were the participants selected? Students competed in the DMS Monthly Challenge and answered 30 questions on a local website. The categories of questions were famous scientists, body parts, and the mind.
The first three sessions were held in November 2009.
The next three sessions will be offered in Spring 2010.
