MARCH 2026

Angela Kirkland, RN
Birth Center
Angela welcomed me as a first mother, excited to meet my baby girl. 24 hours later, she was the nurse who recognized that I was experiencing a life-threatening hemorrhage following my C-section. What began as one of the happiest days of my life quickly turned into a critical medical emergency. As my condition deteriorated, she remained attentive, recognizing the severity, and advocated for rapid intervention. I required emergency transfusions and a return to surgery to control the bleeding. My condition became so unstable that I ultimately required intensive care and life-sustaining support. Throughout those escalating moments, Angela stayed steady and deeply present. Her vigilance and action made an immeasurable difference in my survival and in my ability to return home to my daughter.
This is Angela's 5th Honor.
