Wyatt Johnson
Wyatt graduated from Geronimo Public Schools and attended Cameron University, earning his Bachelor’s in Sports and Exercise Science. He is attending medical school at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine at Cherokee Nation, graduating in 2029.
My father (Mike Johnson) is a retired police officer, and my mother (Diann Johnson) is still a nurse practitioner working for McBride Orthopedics. My sister (Carly Sweat) is a fourth-year medical student at OSU School of Osteopathic Medicine at Cherokee Nation and is married to my brother-in-law, Gabriel Sweat. We are all very close! I am recently married as of 06/20/25 to my lovely wife Jessi Johnson, a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Cherokee Nation. I also have two cute little dogs named Lila and Peach.

“I am absolutely ecstatic to have the honor of receiving the Rick Buchanan Medical Student/Resident Memorial Award! It means a great deal to me to know that I have the full support of DRH and the community members of SW Oklahoma in pursuing my dreams of becoming a physician. I hope to pay forward this generosity to SW Oklahoma by bringing compassion and prestige into my practice after completing my medical education!”

This is such a meaningful way to honor medical students and residents who work so hard every day. I once saw a young resident staying late to help a patient’s family, and it really showed me how much care goes into healthcare behind the scenes, just like in fields like best medical billing services where accuracy and support also really matter. Really respect this kind of recognition, it truly inspires others to keep going and do better.
