Why did you want to be a doctor? Why Family Medicine?
I became a doctor because I wanted to combine my love of science with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives. Family Medicine stood out to me because of its breadth — the ability to manage preventive, acute, and chronic health needs — and its depth, with the privilege of knowing patients and families over time.
Why Duncan? Have you always wanted to practice in a rural setting?
I chose to practice here because I am from this area and wanted to give back to the community that helped shape me. My husband and I also value the opportunity to raise our child surrounded by our extended families — grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Having both grown up here, we believe this is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Part of why I love family medicine is the close-knit relationships you form with your patients, especially in a rural community, where you take care of multiple family members over various stages of their lives.
What type of conditions will you treat?
I want to care for patients across the lifespan — from birth to the end of life — while supporting individuals and families through every stage. This includes managing a wide range of preventive, acute, and chronic health needs.
What would you like the community to know about you?
I want the community to know that I am committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care for patients of all ages. I am dedicated to supporting families through every stage of life with medical expertise and genuine compassion.
Now some fun facts –
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family. Our little boy will be 2 years old in December, 2025 and loves all things outdoors and sports. I have recently taken up some gardening. I was able to cut my own fresh flowers from my chaos garden this summer. For leisurely activities, I enjoy reading mystery/thrillers, contemporary, and historical fiction books.
